Leaders in politics, business, the news media, science, medicine, education, and the organized religions have all failed to prepare the public for the hardships that will attend a global energy crisis supercharged by climate change, disorder in the financial markets, and almost certainly more war. I never met Edna Lewis. I ...I love your comments. I never met Edna Lewis. I had no idea she'd been in the Communist Party. I remember when she started cooking at Fearrington House outside Chapel Hill. Lots of stories about her in the papers for a time. After she left FH, the restaurant went downhill, I believe, and then there was a credible rumor that the owners were taking the waits' tips and somehow redistributing them (which didn't make any sense to us) and so we never went back there. I understand it is terribly expensive now. So here's another irony when you think of Lewis's politics.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
